Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in English with a Writing emphasis at Kalamazoo College and my master's in Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin. Since then, I have spent most of my years working as a writing teacher for college students, including a lot of individual work with students. I have also held fellowships in teaching and writing from the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing and the University of Louisville. In those positions, I spent time teaching a number of different subjects in the field of English and a grad school class on the process of teaching Writing. Through all of this experience, I have worked with students at nearly every skill level and helped them compose all different types of Writing projects, from research papers to poems. I think learning the English language and the proper way to convey those words on paper are essential skills for every student no matter what field of study they are going into. I believe everyone can write well with the proper teaching and I love being able to give that guidance. In my spare time, I enjoy music, reading, and spending time with my son, who is 3 years old and has just begun learning to write.
